Using state-of-the-art infrared technology, the First Years Instant Ear Thermometer makes temperature taking convenient, quick and easy for you, and comfortable for your child, too. For clinical accuracy, the sensor scans the ear canal 12 times, then calculates and displays the temperature based on the average of those readings -- all in one second! The thermometer has electronic sensor controls for speed, accuracy, reliability and ease of use. A long single beep signals when the reading is ready, and a rapid beep and flashing indicate when the temperature reading is above 99.5 degrees.
Other features include on/off button, memory recall that displays the last recorded temperature, automatic shutoff to help preserve battery life, and extra-large display for easy readings. Stands and stores upright. Sports an ergonomic shape and compact size. Includes one probe applicator, one protective tip cap and 20 probe covers. Requires 2 "AAA" alkaline batteries (included).
